An HP Mini is a netbook computer manufactured by Hewlett Packard.
Netbooks are small, inexpensive laptop computers with specs that are
considerably less than their larger counterparts. As a result, netbooks
perform at a lower level than regular laptops. One way to increase the
performance of a netbook is to upgrade the memory. Installing a new
memory module in an HP Mini will upgrade its operating performance.
Instructions
1. Turn off the HP Mini and disconnect all external peripherals. Unplug the
power cord from the electrical outlet, turn the device upside down and
lay it on a flat surface.
2. Slide the battery release latches to the "Open" position, then remove
the battery. Use a flat-head screwdriver and gently push the release
latch on the memory compartment cover.
3. Remove the cover from the Mini, then pull the retention clips holding
the memory module in place apart. The memory module will tilt up.
4. Hold the edge of the module and gently pull it out of the module slot.
Take the new memory module and align its notched edge with the tab in
the module slot.
5. Push the new memory module gently into the memory slot. The retention
clips will snap into place when it is properly seated. Replace the
memory module cover and place the battery back into the battery
compartment. Push the latches into the "Lock" position. Reconnect any
peripherals and plug the power cord back into the electrical outlet.
