How to Remove a Password From Access 2007

The Microsoft Office Access 2007 database management software program allows users to protect their database files by encrypting them. When you first choose to encrypt a database file, you must create a password. Changes cannot be made to the database unless a user knows the password you created. You can remove the password at any time by decrypting the database, which requires you to enter the original password.

Instructions

1. Open the Microsoft Access 2007 application on your computer. Click the "Microsoft Office" button and then click the "Open" option.

2. Select the database file you want to remove a password for in the "Open" dialog box and then click the "Open Exclusive" option.

3. Click the "Database Tools" tab from the top of the application and then click the "Decrypt Database" option from the "Database Tools" group.

4. Enter your password into the "Password" field of the Unset Database Password dialog box.

5. Click the "OK" button in the dialog box and then the password will be fully removed from your database.
