How to Configure Your Ativa Router

An Ativa router enables multiple computers and other Wi-Fi devices to connect to your Internet service. After the connections are made, configure the router's settings to get the best performance and security for your home network. The router includes a software CD that has a setup wizard to walk you through the configuration steps. Despite the complexity of Wi-Fi technology, the entire process can be completed in under an hour.

Instructions

1. Insert the Ativa Easy Install Wizard CD into the disc drive on the computer.

2. Connect the computer to one of the LAN ports on the rear of the router with the Ethernet cable. Click the "Run the Easy Install Wizard" in the window that appears. Click the "Next" button to open the "Examining Settings" screen. Click "Next" when the process is finished. Click the "Next" button in the connection screens to open the configuration page.

3. Create a name for the router's network in the "SSID" field and click "Next." Click the "WEP" option in the security settings page and create a password to log in to the network in the "Password" field. Click "Next." Click "Finish" in the "Congratulations!" screen to complete the configuration and save the settings.
